English 7/07/06 This document was published on the web page of our Adoption Agency. Essentially, it says that there is a new procedure for Spanish families adopting in Colombia. Children are no longer registered at the Consulate, neither are they issued a Spanish passport there. They now apply for a Family Reuniting Visa which will allow them into Spain where they can be registered at the local registry in Spain. Nobody has contacted us but it appears to be another solution. 10/06/06 Through the work our our lawyer and the help of the Ombudsman for Children in Madrid, Enda gets his Spanish Birth Certificate. He now has a Spanish pasport. 15/04/05 Meeting with Irish Adoption Board (Our letters of 17/02/05 led to a meeting with the Irish Adoption Board. What initially seemed positive has resulted in silence and lack of contact) 4/04/05 After nearly a year a letter arrives from the Ministry of Work and Social Services in Madrid 15/03/05 Thanks to the intervention of the Irish Embassy in Madrid Enda's application for Spanish nationality was speeded up.
