| The following is our summary of our meeting with the
Irish Adoption Board, April 15 2005 A very complex set of circumstances but we were very pleased that at our meeting with you it now seemed that there were avenues to explore. If we are correct the Irish Adoption Board agreed to: a) give us a letter which we could present to the Spanish authorities explaining our future adoptive childrens rights to Irish nationality b) confirm that an adoption processed by Spanish authorities complies with Irish law and standards (Spain has both signed an ratified the Hague convention) c) consult the Spanish authorities to confirm that they are making these requirements d) given that there is no adoption register in Spain explore what other documentation could be used to verify the legality of the adoption Unfortunately, the Adoption Board has failed to confirm these notes, asking firstly for more time and then by failing to reply to our email request. |
