| Junta of Andalucia Delegation for Children and Families 9-11-04 Our reference: Dp. Adop.Intern./LD Expte: SE/86/2002-AI In response to the query you made to us about the possible difficulties you would have as a foreign family in obtaining a visa for the children's entry, once the adoption has been finalised, we inform you that as of the 28 of October we have received instructions from the Ministry of Work and Social Services, validated by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in which it indicates that we will have to ask our respective Consulates in Spain, for a document which certifies that the adoption effected in the country of origin of the children will be recognised completely by the legislation of the country of your nationality. This document* should be presented to the Spanish Consulate in the country of origin of the children so that the corresponding visa for residence in Spain can be given to the children once the child is adopted. We hope that with this clarification you can formalise the adoption and the corresponding visa for the children without problems. Director of the Service for Adoption and Family Fostering Isabel Machado Cabezas * Our lawyer is attempting to get this document through our respective Embassies in Spain, but this is not an easy task. |
